sock progress

They're grooowing! I haven't devoted as much attention to these lately, what with my quilt distracting me, but I've reached my favorite part of any sock--turning the heel. No matter how many times I do it, it still feels like "magic." And somehow, the foot goes sooo much faster for me than the leg portion.

12 Socks in 2012: New Pair #2

I loved the socks I started earlier, but my brain needed something simpler right now, so I just cast on for a pair of cross-hatch lace socks by Charlene Schurch (Ravelry link: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crosshatch-lace). The yarn? So old I've lost the ball band, but I do know it is Cherry Tree Hill yarn sock yarn. This pattern knits up so fast and is quick to memorize, I love it!

Moving on to pair number two ... this is the beginning of "Devon" from Cookie A's Sock Innovations book (I'm soo excited to finally be knitting a pattern out of this book!). The yarn? The lovely Miss Babs in the "Dahlia" colorway ... it appears more peach in this picture, and is a more pinky-peach in real-life. Very springy!

pair numero uno!

Done just in time for the end of the month, my first pair of socks for my 12 Socks in 2012 challenge is complete! These are Knit Picks Felici self-striping sock yarn in the Moonlit Path colorway. As you can see, I definitely have a "fraternal twin" thing going on. I like to call one sock the "evil twin" since it is decidedly darker than the other, thanks to a few more strategically placed navy stripes. But I don't mind--I like the variation! On to pair number two!

12 Socks in 2012: Pair #1

Before I lose any steam, I cast on right away on New Year's day for one of my resolutions--knitting 12 socks in 2012! This is Knit Picks self-striping yarn, Felici, in the Moonlit colorway. I love self-striping yarns ... they seem to knit up so quickly!
